December 5th to December 12th

HURT TRAINING: FULL THROTTLE

After last weeks bigger mileage (for me at this time) I decided it would be a bit of a recovery week

December 5th, Monday: Off, wanted to get some recovery for sure, aches were stirring a little

December 6th Tuesday: Went to gym, 1 hour on Nordic ski machine and an hour of cycling

December 7th Wednesday: 10+ miles, Triple Trek loop. Carried water for next days run, about 4.5 litters.

December 8th Thursday: 40 miles! Two loops on HURT course. 8:45 total time. 1st lap 4:20, then about 4 min break for filling water, refueling and using the rest room, 2nd lap 4:21. This was a little faster than I wanted to go, but was pretty stoked for how it generally went.

December 9th Friday: Nothing, joints still feel a little jarred.

December 10th Saturday: 1 hour yoga and an hour of cycling at gym

December 11 Sunday: 12 miles on grass and paths around Ala Wai, Kapi'olani park and Ala Moana. Stopped to watch the elites finish the Honolulu Marathon, pretty awesome.

While not impressive as far as miles go, the long run on Thursday was very key, just to get an idea of how part of the race could go. I ate SE pack, Nunjini concoction, cliff bloks and pb&js, along with endurolytes.
Using handhelds.
